Everybody know Abe no Seimei. He's the greatest onmyōji in the history of Japan and was involved in taking down Shuten Doji and Tamamo No Mae, two of the most fearsome yokai that ever lived ! Even after a millenia, legends are still told about his deeds, but most peoples do not realize they are not mere stories.
Ogres, ghosts and miscellaneous supernatural troublemaker are quite real as are sorcerers and demon hunters. The latter have become more discret over time but no less active : troublemakers are a dime a dozen among the supernatural population. A lot of them are just annoying. Those powerful and wicked enough to hurt regular peoples are the ones they watch out for. And then, every century or so, things get chaotic. Something or someone make them much more active than usual. More than enough to overwhelm those that keep them in check. The Hundred Demon Night Parade, as these events are called are extremely dangerous for everyone involved, regular peoples most of all.
It is that time of the century again, and it's even worse than usual. The first sign that things were going to go to shit was the destruction of the boulder in which Tamamo no Mae was sealed. Those who knew to look for that kind of things were tenses, but when no foxy mischief happened everyone assumed she was converted to buddhism by that one monk who preached to her rock. It was only the beginning. Ghosts are becoming more violents by the day and Oni are rampaging. Worse, it appear that Shuten Doji was freed from his seal.
Thankfully, Abe no Seimei passed down a powerful ritual to his descendants to deal with a situation as dire as this one. The Fivefold Barrier Warrior Ritual is designed empower a group of five with the power of the elements. Alone, they are powerful, but together, the power of their spirit reach heights that no human can reach. Abe no Seimei's descendants began to prepare the ritual to empower their chosen warrior. Things went wrong, however.
Someone enacted the ritual before they were ready. Because of a twist of fate or unknown machinations, you became empowered instead of those selected for this task. You might have been anybody before this happened : A second rate sorcerer, heir to some forgotten demon hunter clan or even a regular person, but now, you are a guardian that must vanquish the source of the Hundred Demon Night Parade.

Hey there, this campaign is going to be inspired by stuff like Jujustsu Kaisen if that's not already obvious, even if I'm aiming for a tone that is lighter. I can accept most character idea, you can go nuts, only thing to keep in mind if your going with a character related to supernatural side of thing is that they should be some kind of outsider or misfit.
We're going to use Valor and I'm looking at playing the sunday at 9pm GMT+2. Living in Europe, it would be kinda hard for me to change the but I'm also available on other days of the week. If you're interested, comment here with your discord contact info, a character idea and the kind of stuff you'd like to see in this campaign.
